What’s New: Key Updates and Features You Should Know

Salesforce’s focus on context, trust, and openness has led to new breakthroughs that help companies grow trustworthy agentic AI across all workflows.

Data Cloud Context Indexing: A new indexing pipeline in Data Cloud enables AI agents to comprehend unstructured content, such as contracts, diagrams, and tables, via a business-focused viewpoint. This extracts specific details from large, disjointed data, making it easier to find the right solutions faster. For example, a field engineer can submit a schematic and have the agent walk them through a troubleshooting decision tree, allowing them to find the proper solution in minutes rather than hours.

Data Cloud Clean Rooms: Now widely available, Data Cloud Clean Rooms allow businesses to securely share, collaborate, and analyze data to gain intelligent insights without moving or exposing raw data. The product enhances the capabilities of a standard clean room by utilizing zero copy connectivity, which eliminates the need to replicate sensitive datasets, lowering security and compliance risks and storage costs. 

Tableau Semantics: An AI-powered semantic layer that works natively with Data Cloud to interpret raw data into business language. Tableau is introducing an out-of-the-box Customer 360 Semantic Data Model (SDM) to speed time to value by unifying cross-cloud data and metadata, simplifying modeling, enforcing standard metric governance, and providing the business context AI and BI require for accurate, reliable insights.

Tableau is collaborating to create the industry’s first open semantic interchange. We’re also working with industry leaders such as Databricks, dbt Labs, and Snowflake to provide common semantics across platforms, ensuring that analytics and AI stay consistent, explainable, and founded in agreed business standards.

Trusted AI Foundation Announcement

MuleSoft Agent Fabric: As enterprises ramp up their AI use, they face an explosion of agents across teams, platforms, and vendors. This surge brings a new type of fragmentation agent sprawl, which results in disjointed workflows, duplicate automations, and compliance blind spots. MuleSoft Agent Fabric provides companies with a centralized platform for registering, orchestrating, and managing all AI agents, regardless of where they were built.

Embedded AI Security and Compliance: New AI-powered security capabilities will be integrated throughout the Salesforce Platform, easing security and compliance posture management. This includes new integrations with industry heavyweights like CrowdStrike and Okta, which ensure proactive security threat detection and compliance management within the agentic enterprise’s operating mesh.

Informatica Acquisition Unlocks Enterprise Metadata: The planned Informatica acquisition (due to close in Q1 FY27) will combine Informatica’s data catalog, integration, governance, quality, privacy, and Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities with the Salesforce Platform to create a unified data architecture for agentic AI. This will provide organizations with the metadata intelligence required to ensure AI agents function securely, responsibly, and at scale throughout the agentic enterprise.

  • • Context Indexing in Data Cloud is generally available. Winter ’25. 
  • • Data Cloud Clean Rooms is now in beta. Generally accessible on November 25.
  • MuleSoft Agent Fabric: Governance is currently available, with Agent Registry, Broker, and Visualizer becoming broadly available on October 25. 
  • • Tableau Semantics is currently available, with partner integrations set to roll out during FY26.
  • • Informatica integration is expected post-closing, subject to permission.
