Salesforce to Expand Revenue Management Capabilities Through m3ter Acquisition

Salesforce, the top AI CRM, said that it has finalized a deal to acquire m3ter, a top metering and rating platform designed for consumption-based revenue.

Businesses will be able to launch, track, scale, and bill using the flexible usage and outcome-based pricing models required for the AI era, thanks to the acquisition, which will integrate high-volume mediation, metering, and rating capabilities natively to Agentforce Revenue Management.

“As AI changes the landscape from traditional subscription to consumption-based models. Every company is looking for more flexibility in how they monetize their products,” stated Meredith Schmidt, EVP & GM, Agentforce Revenue Management, Salesforce.

“With m3ter, Salesforce will provide native consumption billing in addition to our current models, giving our customers more options for increasing their revenue without leaving the Salesforce platform.”

Salesforce and M3ter

Customers can easily input product usage data, dynamically build consumption-based billing scenarios, and automate monetization data flows across CRM, ERP, and quote-to-cash systems with the m3ter platform, which is built for near-real-time performance at an enterprise scale.

Griffin Parry, founder and CEO of m3ter, stated, “We founded m3ter to solve the hardest problems in usage-based pricing, drawing on over ten years of experience building cloud-based backend services.” “By joining Salesforce, we can help every Salesforce customer unlock cutting-edge, AI-driven pricing models by bringing our extensive mediation and rating capabilities to the largest enterprise install base in the world.”

Subject to standard closing conditions, the deal is anticipated to close in the second quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027.
